Event - Year 6's Inspire Workshop

21 January 2014

On Tuesday 21st January 2014 Year 6 welcomed their parents to their final Primary School Inspire Workshop.

The main focus of the workshop was to share current information about the SATs taking place in May/June 2014. The workshop enabled the parents and their children to work together on reading, writing and numeracy activities. Useful information and tips were shared too, which pupils and parents found to be extremely helpful.

Thank you to Year 6 and all their parents for working so well together.

Feedback on our Inspire Workshops

We have now completed all our curriculum workshops for this academic year. We have received most positive feedback regarding the value and enjoyment of all our workshops.

We would like to thank all our parents (and grandparents!) for their continued support. 98% of our parents attended the workshops which is outstanding.

Feedback from pupils unanimously informed us of the enjoyment that they had experienced working alongside their parents. They liked sharing their learning with their parents in the school environment.

Parents were also extremely complimentary of the opportunity to spend 'uninterrupted' time with their children without the usual distractions that can occur in the home during homework time.

A very large majority of parents believe that their children are provided with just the right amount of homework, and that the varied homework set, does reinforce and extend class activities.

A copy of the updated Homework Policy can be found on our Policies and Documents page.
