Event - Year 4's Farm to Fork Project

16 June 2015

On 16th June the children in Year 4 walked to our local Tesco store in Quinton to take part in a ‘Farm to Fork project’.

The children identified whether the food had been grown on a vine, underground, on a tree, or on the ground. They also recorded where the food had grown and its country of origin. It surprised the children just how far some of the fruit and vegetables had travelled before arriving at the store.

The children were able to sample the different cheeses and discovered that some varieties were hot and spicy!

They also identified many types of fish and recorded them.

They were encouraged to try a wide range of fruit and vegetables. Pomegranate turned out to be most popular!
