Event - Year 3's Trip to Woodgate Valley

7 June 2015

On Tuesday 7th June Year 3 learnt all about Habitats and Life Cycles at Woodgate Valley Country Park.

We packed a lot into the day and managed to explore three contrasting habitats: pond, meadow and woodland. After learning about some of the creatures we might encounter, the first task was pond dipping. The challenge was to find a stickleback - we found three!

In the afternoon we swished our large nets in the meadow to find creatures who like to live in grass and then went on to investigate the woodland. We found out that many creatures like to live under logs in the damp and darkness.

The Ranger Service at Woodgate Valley was superb. A brilliant day out!
