Event - Year 2 Inspire Workshop

18 November 2014

On Tuesday 18th November Year 2 spent the morning working with their parents to understand more about the importance of keeping safe when using the internet.

Miss O’Connell introduced the session by explaining the key role parents have in creating a safe learning environment and culture, by promoting e- safety at home, reinforcing the messages taught in school.

Parents played ‘the Moral Compass’ where key questions were asked relating to internet use. This led to discussions from the different responses given. Parents used voting pads to predict percentages of internet use/hours/supervised/unsupervised for typical 5-7 year olds. A video clip raised awareness of keeping personal information private. Children and parents created posters and played a board game promoting internet safety.

Thank you to all parents for their contributions to this Inspire workshop.
