Event - Catholic Swimming Gala

13 June 2015

On Saturday 13th June 2015 Our Lady of Fatima School’s swimming team took part in the Annual Catholic Swimming Gala. They continued with winning ways even following the departure of Mrs Martin this year.

The team of five children from Year 6, and two Year 5, represented the school at the 58th Annual Catholic Swimming Gala - The Andrew Cunningham Memorial at Wyndley Leisure Centre.

Despite being one of the smallest schools to attend, the team made it to five finals out of eight. One of our Year boys managed an impressive second place overall in the Boys’ Open Freestyle just missing out on first place by a fingertip in one of the most fiercely competitive races of the competition.

The team were presented with the Fr Corcoran Trophy (competed for by small schools) for the third time in four years. The children were a credit to both the school and their parents and should be very proud of their conduct both in and out of the pool.

Well done!
