Event - Year 3 Science Visitors

25 February 2016

On 25th February 2016 Governors visited Year 3 to find out all about their learning. Dr. Watson from King Edwards’ School visited to teach Year 3 about what life was like in space for Tim Peake.

They tried tasting food blindfolded and holding their noses to simulate how challenging it is for astronauts to taste food. They learnt lots of interesting facts about life on the International Space Station.

They tried to pick up objects using thick gloves and grabbers. Year 3 found out how challenging it was to tie and untie a simple knot using extra thick protective gloves. They also operated a robototic arm – they had to use it to transfer objects from one container to another.
