Event - Classical Piano Concert

12 June 2013

On a warm summer's evening, the school hall was venue for a very inspiring event. Our pianist – Kata Skupien, hosted a classical piano recital with all funds raised going to the charity 'Helping Hearts UK'.

The concert was attended by 50 adults and children who were mesmerised by Kata's talent as she played compositions by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy and Rachmaninov from memory!

Kata was born in Poland and began her musical education at the age of seven. She now shares her talents with many children and adults in the Birmingham area.

After coming to live in Birmingham, Kata continued her musical education at the Birmingham Conservatoire.

She completed her Master of Music degree in 2010. As well as solo performances, Kata has been involved in chamber and duo ensembles.

As well as working with students in local schools she has performed at St Mary's Church in Hinckley and at St Martin in the Bull Ring.

This was a lovely opportunity for Kata to showcase her musical talent. She certainly inspired the pupils, parents and teachers at this school! We were happy to welcome those from other local school communities. Congratulations Kata!
