Event - The Passion

23 March 2016

During Holy Week on Wednesday 23rd March 2016 pupils from Years 3 to 5 at Our Lady of Fatima School re-told the story of the last days of Jesus’s life on earth in a dramatic and emotional Passion Play.

The atmosphere throughout the play was electric as the audience were reminded of the inhumane way Jesus was treated in his final days. Amid the fine acting, outstanding singing from the choir and eloquent narrators, references to scripture reminded us that this was God’s plan: to send us His only Son to be put to death to save us all from sin.

The Passion ended with a tableau of Jesus’s death, as all pupils left the darkened stage in silence, with their heads hung in disbelief.

In St Mark’s Gospel we learn: For the Son of Man himself did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
