Event - Key Stage 2 Carol Service

14 December 2015

On Monday 14th December the Junior children re-told the Christmas story with a beautiful, uplifting Carol Service.

The children’s singing was outstanding as they shared with their parents and relatives the true meaning of Christmas as shared in scripture by St John: 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.' The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of this incredible act of love.

During the Service the Juniors also shared the real meaning behind the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’. During the times when people in England were not allowed to practise their faith – parents were worried that their children would not remember the special stories and parts of the Catholic Catechism. This carol was written as a catechism song for young Catholics, with each number signifying a special meaning.

Thank you to all our Junior children and their teachers for sharing with us a memorable journey of Christmas back to that very first Christmas.
