Event - Good Shepherd Mass

20 May 2015

During Lent our children chose two charities to support with their fund-raising activities. These were Father Hudson’s Good Shepherd Appeal and the Birmingham Catholic Primary Partnership’s Appeal for Rwanda. We were overwhelmed with the generosity of parents and pupils who raised a total of £1,753.65 which was split between the two charities.

On Wednesday 20th May Year 6 were honoured to be invited to attend the annual Good Shepherd Mass at St Chad’s Cathedral.

The Cathedral was full of pupils from Catholic schools from the Archdiocese, taking an active role in the Mass by serving, reading, singing and presenting Bishop Philip Pargeter with a cheque for Father Hudson’s Society during the Offertory. Each school processed to the altar with their school banner which then made a tremendous display on the altar steps, once the cheque had been presented.

We were incredibly proud of all of our Year 6 pupils as they once again represented Our Lady of Fatima School, delighted to be sharing their generosity by supporting others with the school’s financial donation, as well as offering prayers for all those in need, developing their spiritual generosity.
