Event - Operation Christmas Child

25 November 2013

The children of Our Lady of Fatima School have once again shown their charitable nature by helping children in Eastern Europe and Africa to celebrate Christmas.

'Operation Christmas Child' was a huge success. It involved children wrapping a shoe box, choosing the age range of the child it would be suitable for, stating whether it was intended for a boy or a girl, and filling the box with gifts that they thought a child would appreciate.

Gifts ranged from small puzzle books to sets of felt pens, bouncy balls to books, hats and scarves to cuddly toys. Over 100 boxes were donated, which, for a school of just over 200 pupils is quite remarkable!

The boxes were collected in the middle of November, before starting their long journey overseas to someone whose need is far greater.

These were our gifts of 'unconditional love' for children around the world. Thank you to our pupils and their families for such generosity.
